  • Goodbye Richard Matheson

When I was a kid, for some reason in my Catholic school we read "Dress of White Silk". It stuck with me for years, until I finally did some research and discovered the author's name. Thank God I did, because there is so much more to his body of work. That author died yesterday.

Goodbye, Richard Matheson. Thanks for the Legends, the werewolves, the Boxes, the Dreams.

I've always been a fan of his, having read I AM LEGEND numerous times. I don't know why he hated the movie versions (1962's THE LAST MAN ON EARTH with Vincent Price or 1973's THE OMEGA MAN with Charlton Heston). It was my understanding he was to have creative control over I AM LEGEND with Will Smith but lost it and ended up hating that version as well

Enormously talented, he will be missed...
