Quick background: this is basically Who Wants to be a Millionaire albeit "ramped up" to a speedier format. You only have a certain amount of time to answer a question (which is increased for the higher value question) and you have no lifelines other than passing it on to the next person in line. If you get it wrong, you walk away and the value of the total money drops DOWN one. (so if you were playing for a million and you screw up, the next contestant is playing for $500,000 and so on).
