Well if I wasn't crying before (damnit I had just quit too) I am now. I couldn't even read the article, just the title set me off.

*sigh* C'est la vie eh? That reminds me, has anyone heard anything about Sensational Sherry's death yet? Last I knew that was being looked at too.

    It's getting worse.

Holy shit. This could be why WWE is pulling everything Benoit-related off it's site.
If this is true, it's beyond fucked-up.

I know. He always seemed like such a nice, mild mannered guy (especially for a wrestler.) It makes very little sense right now. Maybe there were warning signs people missed? This just seems out of left field...
Damn...he was one of my favorites.

    Chris Benoit . . . What?!

This is so sad . . . as a wrestling fan, I'm shocked that this has happened. Click Me

    I can't believe he's dead . . . let alone responsible for his family's death!!

*MOD EDIT - Moved from Off Topic to "Check it Out" because of the news link, but then saw that there was already a duplicate thread, so they were merged.

But I'm going to pray for him, and his family, living and dead. Whether he did or didn't do the thing they say he did, I know that in the end, it couldn't have been really "him." People who do those things-the ones who aren't just inherently evil, which he wasn't-are never the same people they might be before, and even if he did lose it in his last days, that doesn't destroy everything he did for the previous 20-odd years of his career and the 40 years of his life..
    Very well put, Mysty.

It did come as quite a shock. We watched the last part of the show and it was a very special tribute, very well done. The boys and I were all crying before it was over.

I was shocked at the news. I thought it was a joke. It took a while to sink in. I'm still in disbelief. I couldn't stop crying when it sank in, and I cried throughout the entire Raw show last night. I can't believe what they're saying happened either.

I always find out about this stuff five minutes before I have to go to work. Managed to keep it together throughout the day, but I'm probably going to have a big crying jag when I get home. It just... it hasn't sunk in yet.

Out here, I'm a month behind on my wrestling. I will probably lose it again when the tribute special comes on.
You probably will. It was VERY good. I only caught the last half-hour and it was good. Almost as good as the Eddie one. The best one (if there can be a "best") was the Owen Hart memorial. The two Eddie ones were really good, and the "Raw is Benoit" is up there as well. I'm waiting to see if they do something on ECW and Smackdown.

I cant believe that hes dead.. Its so unreal.. He was definitely one of my favorite wrestlers
I was disappointed that Mysterio wasnt one of the people speaking about Benoit
Its unbelievable that their saying it might be a double murder suicide, i really cant see Benoit doing that...
If he did thats really a shame but I hope even if it looks like that it wasnt really

I haven't got much to say yet. I've always been the strong one amongst my peers and they need to be now, so I've forced myself to turn to my "news" side and disengage.

Like I told a friend, everything that happens has some purpose, whether or not we're wise enough to realize it. And I believe that Chris and his wife and son are somewhere safe and happy again.

I know...when I heard it ruined my evening completely. Arg. But I'm glad I heard so I could tape the memorial special.

I haven't watched wrestling since Eddie died...it just gets too depressing when all your favorites are out injured constantly, die young, or get fired for stupid reasons.

But I'm very sad...and very happy I paid the $90 or so total to see the 2004 Royal Rumble and Wrestlemania.

As far as pure skill he's my favorite wrestler. Period. There will never be anyone better as far as I'm concerned...

I've been a WWE fan for a while now, and I personally feel a lot of conflicting emotions right now.

For one, I have a huge amount of respect for Benoit's in-ring ability, and he was one of my favorite performers. I was hoping to watch the PPV this Sunda to see him win the ECW World Championship. On the other hand, when I hear that he may have orchestrated a double-murder-suicide, I'm stunned that he could do something that. Absolutely stunned.

I never heard of the guy, but it's sad that his whole family died.

    Murder-suicide, perhaps?
