Except in the trailer, that sure looks like an updated Diablo, and he was killed before the corruption of the Worldstone (he's done end of act IV, worldstone shattered at end of Act V). So even if nasty things are coming through, the big D should still be down. I'm willing to bet 20 internet dollars that it's some really lame explanation.

I got bored, looked through Deckard Cain's journal... apparently in the end of D2, the worldstone on top Arreat was corrupted...

So... I guess that corruption is bringing other nasty, evil things into the world? maybe... i dunno

Or that meteor that hit Tristram could've been caused by the corrupt worldstone...

Probably be fun, though I doubt it'll be addictive as D2. And I agree with the story assessment. Seriously, what kind of bootstrapping are they going to have to do to make it so Diablo isn't dead? Killed, and the soulstone smashed. That's supposed to have been the *final* blow.

I've mixed feelings. I'm sure it will be good mindless fun and awesome cinematic again. But for Christ sakes Blizzard, stop making sequels/expansions. Get some creativity going again. ( Or make a sequel to Black Thorn. <cough> )

Especially in this case, the story sounds shaky. Like its being dug up out of its grave for another go instead of coming up with a new IP. -.-
