I'm visiting my family this weekend and finally got to see how the new priest at their church is.
I have to say it's very interesting... I mentioned this before here that the new priest is fluent in sign language, so a lot of parishioners from his former church have followed him to the new one, simply because they know he'll provide services they can understand.
It was pretty interesting. Where I was accustomed to people reciting prayers or phrases, many of the people were signing instead.
Plus the place is less empty, so that's nice.
Mom also whispered to me that she likes that people are chatting before the service... yet it doesn't disturb anyone else's prayers because it's all silent.
(and it's making me consider learning some sign language myself)
