I went ahead and got the Sprint HTC EVO because of the hotspot feature.
I went to make a call just about an hour ago and had an error message and no 3G coverage. I looked the error up online and there was a ton of different answers and after trying all the so called fixes I still had the error. From most of the answers it seemed even Sprint couldn't always come up with a fix.
I decided to just say screw it and return the phone. Since I bought it online I started looking into if I could just return it to a Sprint store or if I had to mail it back. While on the 30 day guarantee page a chat box popped up asking if I needed help so I explained the problem.
The guy took my info, phone number and pin. While he was looking into it I checked my mail. Theres a bill from Sprint. The bill is for $167, I have a $150 limit. I asked him if this was why and he finally came back and said that it was the reason.
Now I signed up for ebill so why did they send it in the mail? He had no answr.
I asked if I could pay $25 or so and get service back until it charged my card. Nope I would have to pay the full amount. I ask him if I pay it today will my card be charged on July 1st for the $167. He said it would be charged on July 1st for the next month. Which according to this bill is $156 of that $167. That means I will be double billed.
If they do charge my card $156 on July 1st I should have a $156 credit right?
That means August is paid for....
But what about September? That bill will be $156 and my limit is $150, that means my 3G will be cut off again unless I pay early again and then get billed for it then October would be paid for... seems every other month Ill be paying for 2 months...
This does not seem right...
I think I am going to return the phone, and get an iPhone but that may open a whole new can of worms with the data plan changes and poor service on ATT.
