So, we went to a friend's house, and brought Mogli since the friend's dog and Mogli are good friends, and left them unattended for no more than half an hour, dumb on our part, yes, but meh. Mogli ate a corn cob out of a compost pile in the back yard, which left him feeling a bit sick. He threw up 4 times last night, so we took him to the Vet today.
The vet took an xray, and thankfully, there's no intestinal blockage, but he had a LOT in his stomach that would if it passed on, so he gave him an emetic to get rid of it. After it's all said and done, it cost us $274 at the vet's office today. This puts a bit of a tight squeeze on finances, and of course, he had to go and do this 1 month before the wife and I's 1 year anniversary.
We wanted to go to Colorado to tour our favorite brewery, New Belgium Brewing Co, among others, but that's not going to happen in a month now. We've cut back on DirecTV, and with my Qwest internet woes, we're paying a bit less now, so we're stuck without my static IP I had before, can't go to comcast because of setup fees, and we're already on the lowest available shared plan on cell phones. Between Qwest and DirecTV, we've shaved $20 a month off. Not much, but it'll help. We also keep a reserve fund around for in cases like this, so we'll make it, just no nice vacation in a month now.
Oh well. Mogli's fine, and happy again, if not a bit tired from puking his guts out for the last few hours.
