I need a cute pair of black heels like that. I love me some heels, but can't wear them around the bf, because I'd be as tall as him.
I"m confused as to why this matters?

Anyway I hate hose and never wear it myself....especially in the heat.

I will use the phrase my freshman English teacher used.

"A woman in a dress without pantyhose/stockings on is like a clean bedroom with an unmade bed"

Apparently she felt it ruined the whole effect.

Man, those are sexy. I can't wear heels anymore *sigh*. I'm going with boots for fall, I think, since there are some nice-looking ones out there with lower heels.

Heels kill me. I have no balance on anything smaller than wedges (and taller than 2 inches), and would be regularly breaking my ankles if I tried. Luckily for me, I'm plenty tall without them. I tower over more than half the people I know in my bare feet.

Heels. They hurt so good I tower over pretty much everyone when I have mine on, but I rock 'em anyways just to prove I can walk properly in them, since most of my friends have a difficult time with them.

I just wore sheer ones since there seems to be a fine line between "That's classy!" and "You look like a hooker" with black ones
I'll confess I'm not the most fashion-savvy, but in my opinion at least, the way to look classy with black pantyhose is to wear a black dress (or at least a close-to-knee-length black skirt), and black shoes of course.

Me? All of my dressy shoes are open-toed sandals (except for my one pair of winter dress boots), so I always forego the pantyhose.

I went ahead and wore them tonight. Like I said, it's mainly a fear of blisters, since I was wearing something that looked a lot like this:

You can thank Princess Kate and her sister for bringing pantyhose back into style.

I usually keep my legs tanned, so I don't wear them. If anything, you could always buy rubber gloves and self tanning lotion (just the gradual light stuff) if you are worried that your legs are too white.

Supposedly they are coming back in style right now, so a nice sheer pair should actually make you look very with-it.

If in doubt, opt for sheer hose in a colour that comes close to your natural leg skin colour.

Thanks you two! I know it goes both ways, it seems. Our mothers and grandmothers are appalled if we don't, but some don't or you look frumpy, and others say yes or you look trashy. Can't win for losing, LOL. Also I hate to cover my tattoo but the hose shouldn't make it look too odd, I guess.

Formal occasion & close-toed shoes = wear pantyhose.

At least, that's the rule I've always lived by.

I don't wear them cause they make me too hot...lol. BUT if your main concern is that you're going to get blisters then wear them.

    The Great Pantyhose Debate

This is such a mixed subject. I'm going to a friend/co-worker's wedding this afternoon and I dunno whether to put on hose or go bare-legged. The dress I'm wearing is sleeveless and falls just above my knees, and my shoes are close-toed. Not sure if I'm going with heels or flats yet. My main concern about going bare is the awful blister I'll probably have at the end of the night, although I did buy a pair of those foot only stockings that don't show. Thoughts?
