A couple weeks back we went on a short day hike. I could not for the life of me find my jacket. I tore the apartment up looking for it! I decided oh well, it was supposed to be warm and we were just going up a local "mountain" (though really more of a big hill), nothing backcountry or anything easy to get lost in, so I figured it would be fine and set off to go hiking.
About half a mile into our hike...
Hubs: "It's kinda chilly, maybe I should have brought a jacket."
Me: *lightbulb moment* "OMG....I just remembered I left my jacket on the floor of the backseat of the car...the car that's parked at the trailhead...my jacket is right there!"
Yeah, I had dropped off my jacket there on the floor a while back and had forgotten about it until that moment, which explains why I couldn't find it in the apartment...
(I forgot bug spray, too. Between the lack of jacket and lack of bug spray, my shoulders were a feast for the mosquitos.)
