Here is an example of insanity:
P: Person on phone
Me: *hotel greeting*
P: Do you have any rooms?
Me: No, I am sorry, we are booked up.
P: Does the *our brand* and Suites have any rooms left? (Keep in mind I do not work at that hotel, but because people ask I find out right when I get on shift.)
Me: No, they are booked as well...
P: Well, do you know of anyone who has rooms?
Me: Well....last time I knew the *another hotel* had rooms left.
P: Well we are at *hotel down the street from mine*
Me: Okay, well they are the next exit going west....
P: Oh...well what are their rates? (Okay I honestly get this question far far far too often!!!)
Me: Well, I do not work there so I am not sure (also it's flipping busy season, I am sure their rates have gone up since the entire city is filling....flipping people!)
P: Oh.... *sad disappointed in me noises*
