    So I mainly work on the click and collect part of the store. It happens to be situated in the Music and Video department so my contract is for a M&V Assistant because click and collect doesn't have dedicated staff anywhere.

    I'm told very little about music and video, and most of the stuff I know is pertaining to tablets, laptops and mobile phones (which are also us).

    So we did a 3 for £20 offer on chart CDs, DVDs and books. A lady comes in who purchased them online. She wants to swap one for another. I tell her that it's fine though to get the discount I'll have to refund the order and sell them to her again.

    Turns out that that offer finished on Sunday.

    Thanks for telling me, supervisor.

    I called the helpdesk, cancelled the refund and she kept her CDs.

    I felt so bad for that - I may have broken the rules a little. I wrote down her address, which was a couple of extra stops on the bus away, so I stayed on the bus, then popped an envelope through her door. In it, she will/has find/found a note apologising for the confusion and a twenty pound note so she can still get the album she wants.

    I didn't know. Sorry, customer.
