One of the few things I dislike about my current work assignment is the rather random nature of my schedule. I don't have the same schedule any two days in a given week, and the same day of the week tends to differ between weeks.
This bit me today. For whatever reason, I was sure I was working 2:30-6:30pm. Getting myself assembled to go catch the bus, take another look at the schedule, I'm supposed to be there from 12:00-4:00pm today. I notice this at about 12:15pm.
Called in, got there as quickly as I could, grandboss gave me a "no big deal, happens to everyone, don't worry" talk when I got there. He did say if this becomes a recurring thing, he'll consider it a problem, but isn't worried about a one-off from someone who's normally pretty compulsive about punctuality. Boss didn't say anything to me about the matter, behaved normally toward me, so I'm guessing she isn't too distressed about it either.
MUST be more careful about this stuff!
