  • I threw away her lunch!

This is now an old story.
One day, a few weeks ago, I was standing in our break room prior to my shift, and FES H had come in and put her stuff down and all that, and I had gotten bored of just sitting there, so I was pacing the tiny little room. I noticed a little plastic dish of what appeared to be tuna salad, and I could've sworn I'd seen it there for a week at least. So, I asked H about it, and she turned to ask our receiving director about it, as she usually cleans the break room/fridge. She said to go ahead and toss it, so H relayed that to me, so I dumped the 'tuna' in the trash, washed the container, and left it in the sink to dry, then clocked in.

Later in the day, I was walking to the back of the store (to reshelve stuff, I think) and the receiving director poked her head out of the back room to ask the coworker helping me if she knew who threw away her oatmeal.

    RJ: "Oatmeal? That was oatmeal?"
N (Receiving supervisor): "Yes, it was my oatmeal for lunch."
RJ: "Well, I did it, but you said it was okay to throw it away."
N: "H said it had been there for weeks, I made it fresh this morning."
RJ: "I asked H about it, as I thought I"d seen it sitting there a few weeks now, but I wasn't entirely sure."
N: "I bet H asked you to throw it away, too?"
RJ: "Nope, I did it because I was nearest it, but, again, you'd said okay, go ahead."
N: "You dumped it down the sink, too?"
RJ: "No, I tossed it in the trash, and washed out the bowl."

So, you see how it went.
I got some ribbing about it a few days later, when I happened to be in the break room with N and all the ladies from the floral counter, but nothing worth mentioning.
    "I call murder on that!"
