The lady had ordered some business cards but they came back incorrectly, mainly due to HER not getting the proof back to us in time. (but that's not the point lol)
I said, "I'm sorry but this isn't my department, but I will leave a note for the guy to look at on Tuesday and he'll get back to you."
She kinda gave a half-smile, said "OK" and walked off. I went back to doing what I was originally working on but started to feel really bad about how I'd treated her. My tone was a bit on the short/impatient side, and then I felt worse because she has a moderate speech disability. I'm sure she has enough trouble every day communicating her needs to unfamiliar people....
I think I came off as discriminatory and belittling when I really felt helpless that I couldn't do a whole lot for her.
If I see her again, I ought to apologize to her in person for how I acted.
