So I pulled a big boneheaded move tonight. Waiting to find out how much shit I'm in. We had to pull a piece of machinery out of the shop to get ready for the morning after a routine inspection. Walk all around to make sure everything is clear, it is, door is open, good to go, right? We get the unit halfway out and I hear a screech, look up and the door that looked completely open was actually closed about 4 inches from the top, which is one inch too many and it is now hung up and bending on the fan casings on top of the unit, get the door pulled up and clear, get the unit out, inspect the top, no damage to it but the door is busted good and won't close now. Oops, call the manager on duty to report it but haven't heard back from him yet.

This actually reminds me (In a far off, distant sort of way.) about the time I was told to pull a customer's order from the back room to the front of the store outside in the parking lot with a pump-jack. It was a whole pallet of hardwood flooring.

It was one of the heaviest things I've ever had to pull. It was a gargantuan effort to move it even five feet, but I actually managed to do it on my own, from the back room out to the floor. But I was in the main walkway about 50 feet from the main entrance when the pallet stops entirely and will not move. It got stuck on something. Not sure why. Didn't see anything on the floor in front of me as I pulled.

But it seriously wouldn't move. I was pulling and pulling and pulling. It moved very slowly now, as if it were rolling across some bumps. I couldn't really move it aside to look at what was under it, obviously. But apparently, the weight of the pallet on the pump-jack had moved aside some floor tiles, and had ruined the floor. Had to get them fixed during store hours.
SC: "Are you new or something?"
Me: "Yes. Your planet is very backwards I hope you realize."
