  • Cinema's Sense of Snow

The snow here in the UK caused problems at the cinema.

Two prints were'nt delivered: Enchanted and Hotel for Dogs.

Enchanted was for our cheap kiddies film on Saturday and Sunday morning. Although we have several kids films on sight, in anticipation of them being shown as a kiddies film, they were all deemed to recent to be shown instead. So the kiddies film was cancelled. Parents on Saturday accepted this and gladly wen't to see another film or took a refund without complaint. On Sunday morning, they saw this as unacceptable and took out their anger on the poor girl on box office.

Hotel for Dogs, was a weekend preview. Considering we also had Bolt 3D and previews of Bolt (in 2D), there was hardly anyone who wanted to see this. We had Bedtime Stories in its place, but only a handful of people went to see that.

On Friday morning we had a fresh fall of snow. The daytime staff made it in, with several of them walking beacuse of icy road conditions. However out of 14 evening staff only 7 decided to come in. I was working in projection, covering the chief who couldn't make it, so they were down to 6. Fortunately, it wasn't too busy.

We also missed a delivery, however the only thing we ran out of over the weekend was rolls for hot dogs. Fortunately a supermarket is just down the road, so I was dispatched to go and buy rolls.
"I can tell her you're all tied up in the projection room." Sunset Boulevard.
