I got to work today, went to dispatch, but the event list for today's events was not dropped off there. The key to the booth was dropped because my co-worker has to drop it off after her shift ends every weeknight.
So I e-mailed "Kim" on her blackberry since I have received e-mails from this e-mail in the past to let her know 1) that the garage is reserved today, 2) the full sign is on (it only worked until 2 p.m.;an employee from the company that installed the full sign as well as the gates came to install a piece of equipment which is supposed to count the # of cars entering & exiting, but there is a problem with the wiring in the box that controls the entrance gate & so he has to return later this week to fix the problem), 3) that the event list was not dropped off at dispatch, & 4) I do not know who is on the event list.
She calls me from her cell phone on her way to work & told me she realized she forgot to drop it off. Aparently "Lucy", who is not performing up to "Kim's" standards (she told me this on the phone this morning on the way to work) had to leave early again & gave her the list. She said she is tired of her 2 staff members, "Lucy" & "Melinda" leaving her to finish their work. She said there are times when she does not leave the office until after 7 p.m.
She came down to the booth drop off the event list.
Visitor Parking/Community Relations is a small office. Only 3 staff members. Something has to be done.
Then "Vicky", the Director of Parking Services, calls & asks if there is an event going on. I said yes, & then she asks until what time. The garage was reserved for events on my shift & for the 2nd shift. So I told her all day. I bet students went to the Parking office & asked how long the garage will be reserved for. The university president allows students to park in the garage 1) as long as there are non-reserved spots available & 2) as long as they pay for their parking.
I have to let the office know when I will be away from the booth. So I call, & "Kim" answers the phone. I tell I will be back within 15 minutes. She said "& not over." That made me wonder if I ever went over 15 minutes, & so when I called her when I got back , I asked her that. She said "no, you have not, it's just been a crazy day."
