Well, after this, I got right really pissed off...
Not to fear, a place I'd been interviewed at a few weeks back that I'd been awaiting my chance for has..... rung today at about 5pm and said "We want you out on a job tomorrow - can you do it?".
I did a couple of courses, and had that interview, and they seemed ok with me (the guy said "We give everyone a go. Then it just depends on if you like it and if we like you".) I'd been waiting for 'my go' for the last couple of weeks. Apparently, they rang me within a few days, but didn't leave any messages (I do shift work... I neeeeed my message bank!). But I kept ringing once or twice a week.
After getting the info about the pay loss crap, I got home and rang them (the new lot) today to keep me in their minds. They said again that they really wanted to try me out (I pride myself on not being an idiot- which is probably the main attribute they're looking for! That, and being aware of what's going on around me...).
So - tomorrow's the day!
All going well, I hope they see what I'm like and offer me 'full time' (it's actually casually based, but they put the good ones on full time hours at casual rates!), and I can walk from the other place almost immediately
(as it will say in my resignation letter - "Don't expect to see me around for too many shifts. I've got a stack of a) sick leave, and b) CBF attitude!")
Shall post more in the future...
