this one is from my dad, so it's a little weak on details(understatement)
so my dad goes in to pay the fuel bill and there's a guy there who had his underground fuel tank rupture, and all of his fuel leaked into the ground, meaning he was lucky if he didn't lose $1000 in fuel, and there's a costly clean up involved, so this pretty much qualifies 2008 as a shitty year already
so he goes in and is trying to get some fuel delivered soon and was being nice about it and everything and answering the questions, and then all of a sudden he gets frustrated with all the questions and decides to storm out, then the employee looks up and says "I was talking to the driver, he's sitting in the guy's driveway"
