This morning I had to buy some credit for my mobile phone, so I stopped at the service counter of a nearby supermarket. Not only did they not have anybody manning the counter (so I had to wait about 5 minutes), when I finally did get served the CSR just walked away halfway through the transaction. No "Sorry I've got to do something real quick" or anything like that. Just walked off, then came back a minute later and finished the transaction as if there hadn't been an interruption.
