I didn't look through the entire thread so if this got brought up already my apologies.

Anyway...Jester do you know who coined the term Parrotheads for Jimmy Buffet fans? It's someone you know of and that I saw in concert recently and sent you pics of

You might have. How do you know one of my horror stories wasn't about them, hmmm?

After all, the same story will sound different from the two different sides. Also, they may not have mentioned something that I wrote about, out of embarrassment or just because they didn't think to mention it.

Or, more likely, and hopefully for you, they just weren't asinine cretins. Well, at least not in my presence.
They really aren't asinine cretins, lol. And knowing my family if they did anything crazy it would be more funny than sucky. But you never know!

That sounds like amazing fun. I like laid back events, something like spring break would have me hiding in the closet avoiding loud crowds. Chronic pain tends to make dealing with annoyances and crowds bothersome. When I get stuck in a crowd I have to worry about someone hooking a crutch out from under me or shoving my chair so I either catch a finger in a spoke, or between the chair and something hard like a wall or static display.
While CRID is not at all crowd-free, it is far less crowdy or crazy than Spring Break. As a great example, last year for the drag (queen) races, my friend Guinness Girl, who has issues with walking, and thus is not good in crowds, showed up and enjoyed the event immensely, despite the gatherings of people there. Generally the biggest crowds for any event that week are for the bed races, and even that is manageable, I believe. Unlike Spring Break, which is just stupidity unleashed.

A lot less mean than him garroting her with her own lanyard and calling her filthy names. Eventually he will say and do the wrong thing to the wrong person and end up with his nutsack bruised.
If he's lucky... Try that shit on the wrong person and it may be the last thing they ever do.

Also, in late April, we have a week called Conch Republic Independence Days that has some absolutely hilarious events that are very Key Westy, including drag races (with drag queens, not cars) and bed races (with, well, beds on wheels).

I still owe you a taste of the rum we picked up in Puerto Rico, as a matter of fact. I still haven't cracked open *my* bottle of it, though Robs is all gone!

Is it mean of me to wish that Mini gave the d**kless wonder a good shot with her knee?

Hmmm...so maybe mid-Spring (late April, early May) might be good. Not tooooo hot yet...just a bit after my birthday...and doesn't seem to be a sucky KW timeframe.
Actually a great time to visit Key West. No Spring Breakers, decent but not huge crowds, usually great weather, not usually rainy, sometimes a bit windy but that makes for excellent sailing (ironically not the best snorkeling, but you can't have everything), and just a fun time to be here. Also, in late April, we have a week called Conch Republic Independence Days that has some absolutely hilarious events that are very Key Westy, including drag races (with drag queens, not cars) and bed races (with, well, beds on wheels).

Let me know if/when you decide to come down.

I stand corrected, but my point was that Floridians are a whole 'nother animal
True enough. And one of the best descriptions I've ever heard of Florida, which is absolutely true, is that "the north is South, and the south is New York." Of course, Key West is an entirely different entity than any of that, but I think I already made that point.

Actually, there is a major difference between Key Westers and most other Floridians, something most Key Westers take great pride in.

Yes, it is mean of you. And totally, completely, and wonderfully appropriate.

No one got arrested for assault. That was merely dbuzman's wish about what would have happened. In reality, Mini freed herself from the douchebag and went to work. Period, the end.
    ah. that sucks.

but i'm glad she escaped him.
