I had to get onto the highway ramp by making a left-hand turn across 3-lanes of traffic; from right to left is a straight/right turn lane, straight lane, and straight/left turn lane. Once on the ramp, my side would have the right-of-way on the merge. I saw 3-cars coming in the left-most lane, all with their right turn signals on. I began to cross just as the first one hit the ramp, only to have the 2nd one keep coming at me! 
I had to stand on the brakes to stop and luckily no harm done; guy didn't even seem to notice that we'd almost t-boned, but geeze, that's how people die at that intersection. Legally, it would have been my fault, but I hope I could cite his negligent driving!
I can only figure he'd turned right from the road a block down and never turned his signal off.
