And the lawsuit you knew was coming...

    https://consumerist.com/2016/10/18/g...nes-for-weeks/

"A lawsuit, filed in New Jersey district court, claims that owners of recalled Galaxy Note 7 devices suffered 'economic damages' as the result of the prolonged and confusing recall."

    This is gonna be ugly...

And that crap of "you WILL reduce the price" comes out of those awful advice articles. It doesn't work.
I worked for a time in a bridal salon. One season, every bride walked in and immediately announced, "I'm not going to buy today." As if the industry, company, staff had no idea what the bridal magazines were printing and changing their approaches accordingly.

"I guess the pressure's off both of us, then!" was the standard response, and often, a sale was made anyway.

To top it all of, we've started getting calls from people who took their Note 7 travelling overseas and are now UNABLE TO BRING IT BACK WITH THEM ON THE PLANE.

I understand that really, REALLY sucks but there's nothing <Red Checkmark> can do if you're out of country. I feel bad for the people working Samsung customer service.

Samsung has now discontinued production of the Note 7 phone

Probably the only logical conclusion to come to in this disaster.

I heard they are offering $100 towards a new Samsung phone, or $25 on any other for all the trouble...

Yep. The discontinuation resulted in a prompt drop of something like 8% of their market value, representing quite a few billion dollars.

    Not surprising in the least.

I just logged into my Death Star account and went browsing at the current smartphones. They are only accepting in store exchanges now on the Note7.

As far as the other carrier go:

Short Run - shows the item as currently out of stock

PinkMobile - shows it's still for sale but there is a disclaimer posted about the recall

Red Checkmark - it seems as if they are still for sale online.
Well, now Samsung have officially 'killed' the Note7, I'm sure all the carriers will have loads of fun with the customers complaining. Thank god the network I work for never received any

Years ago I went into an auto parts store and bought an air filter for my car. The young man behind the cash register told me, "We can't put this in for you." To which I told him, "I can put it in myself. It's not that hard." Seriously, it was (a) take off the butterfly nut, (b) take off the top of the air filter housing, (c) take out the old air filter, (d) put in a new air filter, and (e) put the top of the air filter housing back on and put the butterfly nut back on and tighten it. Took me longer to type up the steps than to actually do the job. Back when I was single I must have looked like an easy mark, but I got smart and bought Chilton's auto repair manuals for the cars I had during that era. Saved me a fortune and taught me how to do some of the routine maintenance myself.

Yep. I can't stand the spoiled princesses. We had one come in that wanted us to install a headlight bulb for her. We are a DIY auto parts store. The DIY is operative here. We sometimes help someone out if we aren't busy and it happens to be a vehicle that happens to be easy to change. When supervisor asked her what type of car she had she went on a tirade about how our customer service was terrible and she would just go to the guys two doors down. Princess didn't even know what type of car she has (Year, Make, Model). Our two horny single guys went out to help her out and looked up her VIN to figure out her car so that they could then figure out which bulb. After she threatened to go to Gold Shield, I would have shrugged my shoulders and wished her luck. Princess stood out by her car the entire time Dumb and Dumber tried to help her out. Once they finally figured out which bulb and were just about ready to install for her, Princess, screams, "You are wasting my time. I have an appointment with [Local Repair Guy] tomorrow." She slammed her hood down and drove off. I think that had Dumb and Dumber actually installed the bulb before she actually paid, she would have driven off and not paid.
