So we have a policy that you can't use a coupon on the thing you bought. IE, today you bought a Vader head toaster, then tomorrow you get a coupon in the newspaper for 30% off on an item, so you go back and want to use the 30% off coupon on your toaster, meaning you get 30% x price of Vader head toaster back. Nope the policy is there to keep people from doing that.
Now once in a while a person says, "I left my coupon home, can I buy this then come back and use the coupon and you give me the difference" and the manager will say "OK".
Last week, being used to seeing people saying "I had coupon, I left it home, can I come back and your honor it on the item I just bought" and the manager says "sure", I thought that was policy. Nope, it's not policy, just something managers will allow.
So today woman comes in at 8am, gets stuff, and says, "I left my phone home and it has a coupon, can I come back and get the 30% on the items I'm buying now?" I tell her no. She goes on, "oh, well, I thought you could do that." and I say, "sorry, it's the policy" and of course it esculates to "I buy a lot from this store, you could do that for me" to "that is a stupid policy" to "you arn't sympathetic at all/snarky voice". So the head cashier was next to me, wish she said something to the woman, like "ok, we'll do that only once", which off course to a customer it means "you now can do what ever the fuck you want". Then after the bitch left the head cashier tells me I should have tried to make the customer happy, like tell her we could hold her items until she came back with her phone.
So the bitch comes back with her phone and another cashier does the thing we are not suppose to do. It would have been one thing if she got permission from the manager, but anyway. First the bitch goes on with"I;ll just return it then I'll wait for you to put it back on the shelf so I can buy it with the coupon." Then the other cashier says she will return the item and then resell it to her with the coupon. Then the bitch is pally with the other cashier, then the bitch snarks about me. I hope the next time the bitch comes in she doesn't treat me like shit just because I wasn't "sympathetic".
I can't do anything, just don't don't hold me accountable to your happiness, you should have thought to yourself, "I don't have the coupon, I cna't return my itesm to use the coupohn, so I better go home and get the coupon before I check out," bitch.0
