Hey she's a "specialist", which means she probably gets paid a lot more than you do. The trade-off is she has to work more hours. Shouldn't have taken the job if she didn't like that. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if she took Sunday and Monday off anyway.

This is our long weekend/official start to summer here, too, technically it's Memorial Day but everybody treats it more like a holiday. In my area, also known as Summer Black Friday, wherein everyone proves how patriotic they are by rushing the garden centers and spending the weekend mowing their lawn down to 1/32nd of an inch and planting 14 flats of annuals.

I assume she's not hourly, so nobody pays her overtime on her weekend labors? But they DO pay you guys overtime? Because, duuuh, that sure makes a difference!

It's amazing how some people want everyone around them to be miserable.
Isn't there an old saying that 'misery loves company' ?

To my MiM's credit, they actually stood up to her and told her how far up her ass she can shove that. We put in extra hours all through the week just so we could get it, they can't take that away from us now. She was not pleased that a bunch of guys could enjoy their weekend while she could not, but show some courtesy for the guys who are working so hard for you.
Wow, management did the right thing for once! I'm astonished! And boo freaking hoo, she had to work while other people didn't. Especially when it's not like you guys lazed around and then blew off work... You worked harder to make sure to get those days off. It's amazing how some people want everyone around them to be miserable.

    Don't ruin my weekend

For you non-canucks out there, in Canada, there is a statutory holiday in May, it's the official non-official kick off to summer, the May two-four weekend. It's Canadian's reward for surviving another harsh Canadian winter, kind of a big deal.

On top of this, we're on a huge move that started at the beginning of May. We work our asses off throughout the week, then go absolutely insane on the weekend, moving 100 - 150 people at a time. We're all pretty upset that this job is taking away our long weekend. So the bosses do a bit of maneuvering, we get some prep work done during the week, work extra on Friday, so by the time Saturday rolls around, we're in good shape to finish this stage, so at least we can give the guys Sunday and Monday. Everybody is excited at this prospect and kicks it in to high gear to make it happen. Everybody that is, except for the main contact. She's an "expert" brought in from out of town. She's stuck in the city for the weekend, so has no interest in having us finish Saturday because she has to come in to work regardless. Well too bad, so sad, we bust our asses and get the move completed Saturday, stage complete, we're going to enjoy our shortened long weekend. Oh no we're not, this move is quoted to go on through Sunday, so she is making a point of making work for us to do, just so we have to come in on Sunday.

To my MiM's credit, they actually stood up to her and told her how far up her ass she can shove that. We put in extra hours all through the week just so we could get it, they can't take that away from us now.
