Yeah, but think of the stories you'd get out of it! I wonder how many of these people follow up on their threats to call the BBB.

When little Johnny trashes the house, and I mean shreds the curtains, sets the kitchen on fire, throws pots and pans at the windows, overflows the bathtub and decides to go for a ride in the washing machine, do these idiot parents STILL believe that he is a good kid that doesn't do any wrong?

Who do they blame THEN? The cat?

In that case, I'm sure the parents still use the "hahaha--he's just a kid" excuse. I've always wondered, though, when does that period end for those people? Does it never end and then the kids just grow up to be entitlement wenches just because mommy and daddy never said no?

idrinkarum, no dirty looks from me, just two big thumbs way the hell up; in a world where kids are set to roam free by their non parents, i get a bit of my faith in humanity restored when i hear that there are people who do make them mind.

as for the losers who glare at you, they can pound sand for all eternity.

I'm assuming Better Business Bureau is the American consumer protection. Isn't it funny (And annoying and whatever) how some customers who "can do no harm" always threaten stores with the law? I mean, the manager has a right to kick anyone out

Well, if I recall, the Better Business Bureau isn't actually a law type place. It's just a reporting place that keeps records of sorts on businesses...not actually any type of law place.

But you are correct, the establishment always maintains the right to refuse service to anyone. THAT is a law.

You will not believe the amount of dirty looks I get from other parents when I raise my voice a little and say "NO! Don't touch that!"

Yeah, but know that every clerk in the world applauds that you don't let your kid just paw everything in sight.

My aunt, who has no kids and who actively does not like them, does craft shows with my mom. One year, they had home-made divinity for sale along with the rest of their things. My aunt is the one who makes the divinity. If you've never made divinity, know that it is a bear to make and if the humidity is off even the slightest bit, it will never set right.

So, she's got the little cups of divinity out on the table and this kid, about 9, comes by and starts poking his finger through the cellophane on top of each cup, breaking it. After the third one my aunt leaned forward and told him, "If you don't stop doing that I'm going to break your fingers." (did I mention my aunt really doesn't like kids?)

He skedaddled, and a little later, the show's manager comes trooping over followed by a woman with the kid in tow. The manager asks my aunt about what she said, and she explained the situation, showing all of the merchandise the kid had ruined. The manager then turned around and told the woman that she could either pay for the divinity or leave. Of course, she refused to pay, so the manager made her leave.

I find it hilarious when people say they'll report you to the BBB. They have absolutely NO POWER TO DO ANYTHING. IF there is a dispute they might be a mediator, but all they can do is add the complaint to a list and post on web with the details and let the business know about it for rebuttal.

Sometimes I'm inclined to agreee with you, TwoScoops, but sometimes parents just need to be told they're doing wrong by the kid.

Y'know, I have issues with people who try to tell parents how to raise their kids, but in cases where the child is totally out of control like that? Ride the brats and their parents, because there's no excuse to let your child act like that.

Kinda OT, but this has happened to me before.

My daughter likes to touch everything. Anything shiney and pretty, she's threre with her little hands touchey touching.

I will tell her not to touch. "No, Kelly, don't touch that." "You're not allowed to touch that." "That's not yours to touch."

The lady is now looking super-pissed and starts pounding on the door, saying she's going to call the Better Business Bureau and how she'll see him in court, etc. When it became obvious the manager wasn't coming out, she flips me off and storms out.
