Finally had a genuinely unpleasant customer today (only mildly unpleasant, but still ....)
Me: grocery store cashier
SC: Sniffy Customer
SC comes up and unloads half a dozen items onto the belt. I notice a bag in her buggy from an affiliated store, with some items in it.
I scan her items and then say "Are those needing to be scanned?" She doesn't answer (doesn't appear to hear me) so I repeat the question, nodding at the bag in her buggy.
SC: "That's from [Affiliated store]!"
Me: "Okay."
SC: "I don't shop just here, you know."
Me: "Yes, but people come in here with bags from a lot of other stores ...."
SC: "That's YOUR problem."
Me: "Yes it is, and that's why I have to check."
SC started to say something else equally sniffy but at that point her transaction was done and I was done with her. I turned to the customer behind her, while she was still being snotty, and asked if he needed any bags today. She huffed off.
