Remember in one of my last posts from yesterday (This one) how I said the elevator broke? Well, I just remembered this. Why I forgot it is beyond me.
As usual, when the elevator breaks people are going to panic and push the call button. Everytime someone pushed the call button, either Preggers M or I would answer the phone. I took over and asked if the elevator was stuck. No sound, nothing. But when I would hang up the phone, the elevator would bang, which means someone was in there. So after calling 911 and the elevator tech and getting everyone out, and after the fire people left and the tech was still here, some ass comes to the front desk and smiles and charm and says "Does your hotel have insurance?"
Before I could answer with my snarky reply, the jerk interrupts. "Because I'm going to sue for emotional damages."
Me: That's your prerogative.
He continues to grin like a manic and walks away. A few hours later it's dark out and it's nearing the end of my shift. He returns.
CG (Crazy Guest): I believe I have a balance on my room. I would like that back.
Me: (after recognizing him): Sir, you get it back when you check out. Would you like to check out now?
CG: No, my flight back to <country> isn't until tomorrow evening.
Me: Then you will have to wait until you check out. *I cue up his room number to leave a note for Preggers M since she works in the morning and notice I neglected to get his information* Sir, I didn't get your address. May I please have it? It's for incase you forget something in the room, we know where to send it.
Still all smilies and giggles, the guest asks for a piece of paper and continues to give me directions to his address. Including what street it's near. I don't think this guy was right in the head (he was a bit flaky when he checked in, and why does everyone from his country pay cash?! How do they get plane tickets??). He tells me again that he's going to sue for emotional damages and walks out of the hotel to his friends. Who are also staying in the hotel.
Weirdness. I think to myself, if you're going to sue, why are you staying tonight? It won't make your suit credible. But I don't say this. I also wonder whether or not he think's he's going to get my name to add to the suit. I also think this is ridiculous since all he knows is my first name and none of my co-workers can pronounce my last name (and if they're looking at my signature, they can't tell what half the letters are).
I leave a note for K with my concerns about him staying voiced in it with copies of his info and his folio. I've not got a call from Preggers M yet so I'm going to assume she got his money refunded okay. I have another hour before I have to think about getting ready for work so we'll find out eventually.
