That reminds me of when my sister was learning to drive: At first, our dad refused to let her learn to drive the same truck that her brothers had learned in, because it wasn't an automatic transmission. My sister stared at him incredulously, and said "Oh, do you have to have a penis to push in a clutch?"
That'd be an awfully large penis...

And yet I can still admit, I found 300 to be pretty awesome if woefully inaccurate in both the time and actual history (There were 700 Thespians, 400 Thebans and a fair few Helots, as well as the 300 Spartans)
It is worth pointing out that the author, Frank Miller, has said that the comic the movie is based on was only loosely based on history. He was going more for a "ripping yarn" than accuracy.
The Rich keep getting richer because they keep doing what it was that made them rich. Ditto the Poor.

Yeah, that makes sense. I doubt Frank Miller actually thought Ancient Persian's had giant monster's with swords for hands fighting for them....

Back on-topic- That guys an asshole. "Pretty Uniforms?"What a tool.

You should have said "Tee-Hee" every time he said "Har-Har".

Yeah, I knew that it wasn't intended to be a historical thing, that it wasn't even trying to be historical, which is why I could enjoy it despite being so inaccurate.

Though there were still a few times that made me really shake my head, namely when they broke formation while under attack (though the part where they start walking forward, spreading out a bit and still maintaining formation was awesome.

This Bloke goes to explain why I shook my head with the leaving formation.

My mother, who I might add was a very successful upper level business woman at a large company before she retired, was even guilty of this. It blows me away that someone in her position would say to me:

"Why don't you wait to get your dad to help you install that hardware?"

I once just turned to her and deadpanned, "You know, Mom, I'm pretty sure Dad holds a hammer with his hand." Look here, I have a hand, too! I bet I could hold that hammer almost as good as a man!"

She got kind of mad at me.
