This customer (usually) rules. She's organized, lets us do our own thing, never rushes us and is always happy when the job is done. I've never had a problem with her.
I've got a job the other day where my boss promised us all that we'd be out early. This was a good thing given that all four of us had plans for the early evening. Well, as is typical, my boss didn't scout the job out, or advise the customer of our need to leave "early" (early as in an 8-4 day, as opposed to an 8-god knows what time day). It was supposed to just be a standard 20 person move; 4 hours if things go well, 6-8 hours if there's complications. Well we get there and the move is off, instead we're clearing out their storage room and then some more clean up work. I look at the work and see that it's a long day and advise her of our need to leave at a regular time but I don't see a problem getting everything done.
So the day goes on and we run into a few snags. The elevator breaks down costing us an hour. Security hassles us about the stuff we're throwing out so I spend half an hour clearing that up and then things went slower because of how they wanted us to do things. It's getting close to 5 and we've got the majority of the room cleared out. We'll be able to finish it off, but won't have time to clean up their working floor (12th). I call her up to give her the scoop. She's disappointed, but okay with it, as long as we clean up the 12th. We push through, get the 12th cleared and straighten out the storage room. It all looks good, all that's left is some more garbage in the room that has to go, but it's all put away neatly. Four o'clock hits and I give her one last check, she's completely happy, even surprised that we got so much done. She says it's no problem to leave, we're back on Monday and we can finish up then.
I'm thinking everythings fine, then I get a call from the boss the next day. She called him "pissed off" that we had to leave early, she wants to be sure that nobody leaves early on Monday. I'm pretty sure that it's just the boss blowing things out of proportion. To him, any call from a customer is a complaint. I think she was just making sure that things will be okay Monday because the scheduled time is 2-8. I'll have to clear things up with her and see what happened.
