But what if I want Serenity ice cubes?
Considering the heat outside, ice cubes are serenity.

(Lovely movie. Now I need to watch the rest of the Firefox series. Just as soon as I'm done with Stargate.)

you can always ask. i mean i know this thread is about being impossible but... asking if a drink can be made "over ice" isn't bad.

bad would be asking them if they can shape each ice cube into the crew of Serenity, and specifying that River has to be barefoot, Wash has to have some dinosaurs in his hand, and that Jayne has to be holding Vera... etc. :-)
True that, but at the moment I don't have any good excuse to stop by a Dunkin' to ask. I shall have to keep that in mind.

But what if I want Serenity ice cubes?

Edit: checked the Dunkin' website. Doesn't look like it. :P I'll have to stick with McD's frozen strawberry lemonade then.

Excellent choice! The talking lemon on the TV ads is creepy, but the strawberry lemonade itself is super delicious.
I know! The saddest part is that the small size is no longer just $1.

And yes, their advertising stinks. But their food's tasty.

Agreed...especially since they started all that "I'm Lovin' It" crap.

McD's advertising kind of blows, imho. They need to fire their ad agency, or something.

That was my thought too! Made my mind boggle when I heard the radio ad.

All I can figure is that the non-coffee-drinkers got jealous of the coffee-drinkers having iced coffees during the summer, so Dunkin' is trying to accomodate by doing the same thing to their hot chocolate. All I can say is if they have that for the white hot chocolate, I may have to try it anyway.

...wait what? It's not hot chocolate if it's iced.

    and too hot? Cold chocolate!
Actually, the Dunkin' Donuts stores in our area (all fifty billion of them) now offer iced hot chocolate. Go figure.

Negotiating a truce between world powers? Chocolate.
Actually, according to 'Dexter's Lab', the secret to negotiating a truce between world powers is "Omelette du Fromage" (Cheese Omelette)

just looks like a collection of weird random stuff
although i don't do this myself it makes perfect sense.

    Too cold? Hot Chocolate.

and sadly i am not exactly surprised by his request... it sounds like he's getting worried and decided the only way to fix this is to micromanage. even if it does no good and cannot be done.

The only thing funnier - or worse, depending on how you look at it - would be if the guy started his requests with, "Oh and if you could..." cos... i dunno why but your story made me think of Bill Lumbergh from Office Space...

That's about what I did. Haven't heard back from him yet. I have this sinking sensation he's going to want something unreasonable, for his to somehow be different from all the others I've done for some cracked reason.
Take a small fabric toddler's hair bow and sew it onto the top of the head. Viola! different (if other have bow, then just remove or sew at neck to be bowtie) than the others.

Your title made me think of this snippet of stand-up comedy...

"Hi. Can I ask you a question about the coffee? Is it organic? Okay, I don't want it.

I'd like a bowl of boiling hot water. Boiling... With ice. But I don't want the ice to get all tiny.

And then I'll have the turkey burger, but I want it sectioned into fourteen quadrants; I know that's impossible, but do it.

And then not on a plate, I'd like it dropped from an altitude of ten feet, piece by piece, into my hands with an attitude of regret. Thank you so much. I hate to be a pain!"
I wish I could remember her name, but I have no idea who said this.
