Had an annoying guy the other day at my new job. I answer the phone with the usual spiel and I get lots of background noise like a stock exchange level.
SC: Hello? Helllooooo?
Me: (already annoyed by stupid customer who can't go to a quiet place to make a freakin phone call) I SAID HOW CAN I HELP YOU!!!
SC: Uh----um----(that's right waste more of my time) IS THE HOTEL CLOSE TO THE BUS STATION?!
Me: YES!
SC: WHAT
I had to repeat myself like a million times. I was thinking that this was a prank call, seriously who calls in the middle of a crowd? Anyhoo, finally I hung up. Relief.
After a few minutes, this old, ratty guy in old, ratty clothes comes busting in our front door. He chats with my CW, and then my CW leaves (to get the hell out of there). SC then says to me, "Sorry about that, it gets really loud at the bus station! I couldn't hear you!"
Me: Yeah... (fake smile)
SC: Say do you know where an outlet is?
Me: Yeah I think there's one over there....somewhere. (helpful point)
SC: LOL You must HATE your job, eh? Don't worry I won't tell your manager (winks)
WTF!
Me: (another fake smile) Sorry, I'm new here. SO I don't know where anything is yet.
SC: Oh, so you're new here....don't worry your secret is still safe! (another cheeky wink)
Apparently he thought we had a comradeship since he found out my "secret". Ummmmmmmm ok. What a douche.
He continues to annoy me by saying to my CW how quiet I am, which has always been one of my pet peeves. Buddy, I'm not quiet, I'm biting my tongue!
