Just so this doesn't devolve into Fratching, I won't mention the Horst Wessel Song.
Um, except to mention that I won't mention it.

Chekov: We're looking for the naval base in Al-a-mee-da - can you tell us where the nuclear wessels are?Quoth Racket_Man View PostI thought the line from Chekov was "We are trying to get to the nuclear Wessles at Alimidia" or something like that.
Unhelpful: Oh, I don't know. I think it's across the Bay. In Alameda!
Chekov: That's what I said - Alameda, I know that.
Uhura: But where is Alameda?
Across the Bay, duh!

Me too. At the time the movie was released, a bunch of people from my office went to go see it together. We all busted out laughing at that scene, because we worked with someone whose last name was Wessel. He wasn't too put out being called 'Nuclear Wessel' for quite some time after that.Quoth Jay 2K Winger View PostBut to me, "vessel" will ALWAYS be heard or read with Chekov's accent. "Wessels" forever.

Here is another one that I used to use in my siggy
"bitch, Bitch, BITCH. Don't be difficult. Try a little harder and be IMPOSSIBLE" a saying that my college roommate made up about 35 or so years ago.
I thought the line from Chekov was "We are trying to get to the nuclear Wessles at Alimidia" or something like that.

It's not "missiles" it's "vessels."Quoth Aria View PostLOL... the whole time, I was reading the title as "Fire the Nuclear Weasels" and I FINALLY realized it's missiles with a russian accent. And I only figured it out because I read a comment about Chekov. *facepalm*
Nuclear vessels.

"No one provokes me with impunity." Always one of my favorites.Quoth AngloSaxonViking View PostDear Seraph, I am happy to offer you the use of my family's motto (since 500 years back, I kid you not). Untranslated it would be quite posh...

No-one screws with me and gets away with it

Oh good grief! Why limit yourself to a single long, cool glass - this guy seems to be operating a PWNadeâ„¢ distillery!
