We have a washer-dryer that we love, because it normally does exactly what we need it to. Over Easter, the control board half-died. We didn't mind too much, because we could still do a 60 degree Celcius Cotton wash (our most common setting), and the dryer still worked as long as we pressed the right buttons. We decided to get it repaired after the rest of the bills were done, because it could wait that long and we wanted to avoid the holiday rush.
So, I called the techs that we normally use and found out that they no longer work on the LG combination machines. I looked around online, and decided to call the LG support centre - This was Tuesday. I was put straight through to a person instead of waiting on hold for ages! She booked an appointment for a tech to come and look at the problem the next day (Wednesday). He called to check if he could arrive earlier than planned, looked over the machine, explained the problem and ordered the part. He also asked if I was sure that we could manage, because he didn't want us to be without a working washing machine with two small children. On Thursday, a lady from the support centre called to let me know that the part was on its way and would arrive some time on Friday. Was Monday morning a convenient time for the tech to come and install it?
Saturday...the pump died.
This morning (Monday) the tech called, arrived, confirmed that the pump was dead and promptly replaced it. He installed the new control panel quickly, tidied up after himself and explained that we could save ourselves some money by cutting the amount of detergent as we're using a bit too much. Apparently, most people do. He also showed me how/why the parts were broken, and explained it nicely.
I am so happy with this tech and the company! Going to call up and make sure that something nice gets put on his file, because he was absolutely brilliant.
