So there was this little bitty bakery a few blocks away, and we loved going there because it was so laid-back and friendly. You could sit for as long as you wanted, have cookies (Italian cookies are THE BEST anywhere) and coffee, and just chill. They decided to move up the street and open a combo bakery and bistro.
Holy Cannoli, is this place the best or what! My sisters and I went there for my birthday dinner. Absolutely the warmest, most welcoming place I've ever been...the owner stopped by our table several times, asking if everything was ok, could he get us anything else, etc. I know sometimes it's annoying when servers come around too many times, but this guy was kind of like everybody's favorite uncle...smiling, easy-going, but genuinely listening to what we had to say, joking around. The food was incredibly delicious (chicken cacciatore for me, veal marsal and fettucini alfredo for my sisters). And for dessert...Red Forest Cake...which is red velvet cake with cherries and the thickest, creamiest cream cheese frosting I've ever had.
No complaints at all, just friendly, professional and very attentive service and fantastic food.
