Yesterday I had a not-so-great shift at work. I was working the register, and it was the end of my shift and I was about to clean up my space so I could leave when this older woman and her husband (I remember he was wearing a cowboy hat) with two carts full of merchandise came to the front of the queue line. I was standing right at my register and didn't want to ignore them so I reluctantly said I could ring them up.
They had a TON of household items including some glass ones I had to wrap up, and a bunch of pans that I offered to wrap so they wouldn't get scratched. (Please say no, please say no, I thought…of course they said yes. Oh great, this was going to take FOREVER. And for some reason we didn't have any tape.
) While this was happening, the wife walked off to get MORE stuff and came back with a bunch of towels - right as I was done wrapping, thankfully, so at least I didn't have to wait for her. They bought about $660 worth of stuff, and I work at a discount place so this was a lot of merchandise.
Finally I was done and the husband said to me, "You know, RudeAwakening, you have a lot of patience. You're going to go far in life." I wasn't having a good day up to that point, but it totally made my day and erased my previous annoyance. Thanks, Cowboy Hat Dude.
