My mom and a few of her friends call themselves The Breakfast Club and meet approx once a week at a nearby breakfast place to eat and gossip. The rest of my family occasionally go there with my mom on the weekends for breakfast, and I always think it's incredibly adorable how the staff all know my mom and are excited to see her. The restaurant is family-owned and operated, so most of the staff are related.
Part of the reason we go on off days is that my mom's favorite waiter, a guy a few years younger than me, currently in community college in the area, is only there on weekends. He's adorable, and while he may not be the best server ever (he occasionally forgets weekends) he makes up for it by being very polite, sweet, and personable.
My mom cracked me up, because after my dad left the table, she snuck back to put a few extra bucks down for his tip.
