we had a customer yesterday who could have very easily turned a situation sucky, and i really expected them to, i even suggested lying and saying we couldn't find one, but we had a table and chair set that we had in inventory, but it wasn't out on the shelf, so we looked in the back(we do that in furniture) and we had one. the only problem was it was on a pallet behind a pallet and it was the bottom item. it was literally the size of the pallet and had a whole pallet worth of stuff on top of it, so we went back and told him we had one, but we couldn't get to it, and him and his friend actually offered to go dig it out, which of course we couldn't do, but then he asked if he could reserve it, so we ended up calling an assistant manager and selling him the display with a smooth transaction that could have easily turned sucky.
