I felt awful today. One of our regulars came in with her daughter, who had accidentally left a stuffed animal in our store. The mother had warned her kid not to bring it in, as she might lose it, but the kid did anyways. Me and one of my cw's searched for it but to no avail. I figured that since we have a ton of stuffed animals, a worker or cust must have picked it up and put it away, and it was eventually sold. I felt real bad and told the mother "I know this won't help your present situation, but if she finds another animal that she likes here, I will give it to her, because I feel really bad." She responds "Thank you, that's very kind. However, I think she needs to learn to listen to me and take responsibility for her own belongings."
There is a reason why she is one of the most well-liked people at my store. Also, she restored my faith in there being some parents out there who are raising their kids the right way.
