Okay, so I flew out from YYZ (Toronto Pearson International, Mississauga ON) to YQR (Regina, SK) on an 8:55 am flight (WS 195).
First off: WestJet has the friendliest service of any company I've dealt with at 7:30 am, ever. From the employees directing people through the baggage drop line, the baggage drop clerks (why is it called a self-serve baggage drop if all I do is give them my boarding pass and they do the rest?), to the gate clerk (who didn't even check my ID...) and to the flight attendants, the best service I've gotten from a company in a long time.
Next to the CATSA agents, thank you. The guy ahead of me was an idiot (apparently a PS3 isn't an electronic to some people) and once they got through with him (and x-raying my bag 4 times because they moved the conveyor belt back and forth 4 times to see what he had in his bag.... so glad I didn't bring my ISO 400 film -- if I did I wasn't going to request a hand inspection so that the line would go quickly). And yes, we joked around about it. This guy though, metal-toed shoes, jacket with metal on it and huge ass belt buckle, not the best for air travel. You still managed to go quickly and ensured that I got from the front door of Terminal 3, to the baggage drop and through security in less than 10 minutes. It actually took longer to walk from security to the gate than it did to get through security.
And back to WestJet, sure my TV wasn't working, but that's not the fault of the employees on the plane. And yes, thank you for the complementary bottle of water (apparently a $3 bottle is equal to 3 cups, cups you can get for free, cups that were all offered to me without asking).
And to Co-Op Cabs, your drivers are great. Fast, efficient and even called dispatch to find out which route would be cheaper for me.
Super 8 Regina -- Your staff are great, the rooms, well I'd expect a TV remote that isn't the remote from the TV but rather Lodgenet, but this is gonna save me money by not ordering, um, movies. Also, the phone *should* have the voicemail light and other features you advertise in the guest directory, but the one in the room that looks like the $9 one I saw at Zellers will be fine with me if it works. And I'd like a key card, but the machine broke this morning right so I'll have to ask the desk to let me in whenever I leave the room, I understand, it should be fixed tomorrow sometime. But you do get my thanks for keeping a few rooms available, because I reserved a non-smoking room, but I called to confirm and they had me in a smoking room an were fully booked. On arrival, I asked and they a few non-smoking available and I got one of those.
