  • MAC Makeup Sales Girl

The "Jewelery" thread in sightings about being overlooked for looking poor made me think of this girl:

Dear MAC Cosmetics Associate in Kansas,

I have a real bad time with my self esteem. I usually look very poor, vaguely messy, and am pretty socially awkward. You apparently did not care and valued me. Even when I only bought 1 or 2 eye-shadows, you remembered me by name after my second visit and every visit thereafter. You inquired about my life, my work, and worked within my meager budget for my fancy makeup fetish. I asked you if you worked on commission, and you did, so I made my resolve to only buy from you. If you weren't there, I came back another day to buy because everyone else treated me like a sale, or ignored me, instead of treating me like a person. I know I didn't buy a whole lot (~700$) over that 1 1/2 years before I moved, but I made sure you got every ounce of commission you deserved. I also referred my friend to you and she spent a couple hundred with you as well, because she heard how well you treated me. You worked with me in picking out colors that go together, upsold me to products you knew I'd like or would go with what I had in my hand/the color I told you I was looking for a match to and you were always pleasant. I honestly wish I could have spent a ton more money with you because you are an awesome worker.

Actually, I think I'll call the store and get your name* so I can write a letter to corporate about your awesome service. Thanks to you, your company was my exclusive dealer for my makeup addiction.

*I feel so bad for not remembering her name. I think it was a generic female name but it's been two years since I've moved.
