  • Wait? What wait?

So I stopped at the grocery store on my way home yesterday. The way the timing of the buses work I have about a 15-20 minute wait if I want to be sure to catch my second bus. (I have to take the round-about route because my foot's still sore, and walking across campus at the end of the day just doesn't work. The wait is because of the fact that this bus is not a major one, and only comes every half hour).

I figured that shopping at quarter to five I ought to expect a wait, and I was pleasantly surprised when I found a lane with only one person in it. Even better, the cashier the next lane over didn't have anyone (his light was off, and he had been doing some tasks when I walked by, so I assumed he was closed). He said that he could check me out, and then grabbed my stuff off the belt for me, so I didn't have to carry it around. I was very .

I'm actually tempted to write in to corporate, but I feel kind of silly for doing it for just "hey, he did his job and it made me happy, even though it made very little difference".

you should totally do a "yay high fives!" type letter - b/c no the guy didn't have his light on, and didn't have to turn it on just for you, and b/c yes they most likely get more "grr your customer service sux" type letters, so its nice.

I'm thinking of calling or emailing about the awesome waitstaff we had on mothers day at Cheesecake Factory - they were packed - but if the staff were stressed they didn't let it show... everybody was pleasant but effective.
