My brother was building a mirrored ceiling out of AOL (and other) free cds and silver push pins.
If he had ever finished it, he was going to also set up a mirrored ball and laser light to complete the effect.

My son and I have already tried it, they don't fly well at all.Quoth Velfarre2001 View PostI always thought they were supposed to be used as makeshift frisbees.......
At least when they sent out floppies, they were somewhat useful -- reformat and use them. Other then the pack of floppies I bought with my first computer, I never had to buy any. They just kept coming in the mail.

And then the AOL jumped out and sacked your computer while you slept.Quoth ta2ooed1 View PostBut then they don't make nearly as pretty mobiles! I seem to remember not so long ago a really amazing scupture of a life size horse made entirely out of AOL cds so at least there is some use for them.
I call it the AOLiad.

and don't forget to hand wash your CDs in warm water with a SOFT abrasive to keep them nice and shiny!Quoth JustADude View PostWhat?! Yesh, some people... everyone knows laptops need a good, hard scrubbing with a metal brush in a tub of hot, soapy water, especially the screen!

This didn't actually happen to me but a coworker told me that when the company sold off some of their older computers to employees at a discount (and when they picked up the machines they were told of any problems they might encounter) they had one lady who had gotten a laptop and had been told it had quite a bit of spyware and needed to be cleaned up that she had proceeded to take it home and put it through a cycle in the DISHWASHER!
