Hi There
This is classic. I got an email in our tech support mail box that had a subject line as follows.
RE: [virus Win32/Mytob.MQ worm] YOU HAVE SUCCESSFULLY CHANGED YOUR PASSWORD.
the email read -
I did not ask to change my password. I can't open the attachment you sent.
Now I don't know about you all, but if I get email that has it labeled as a virus in the subject line I do not open it. It usually means that my AV software has found a virus in the email and is letting me know.
Also if I get an email that has an attachment from somone and I did not ask them for one, I do not open it. It was tempting to phone this person up and say "Hey Stupid! if an email says VIRUS - DON'T OPEN IT". I sent her a nice precaution email instead - what to do if you get a virus and how not to get one the first place. I made sure to state that if you get an email from someone that you never asked for don't open the attachment. I also noted to her what an email from us looks like.
