Ok, so as some of you may know, last week it was announced that our office was closing. We were given a whole 10 days notice, and the prospect of having to collect unemployment and interview all over creation was a looming depression for me. However, there is a light at the end of the tunnel, and no it wasn't a train...
I interviewed with a promotional materials company just yesterday, and this afternoon I got a call that they're offering me the job! Granted, it's for a little less than what I was making at Fieldstone (no harm in saying the name now, since I'm only gonna be employed there a whopping two more days anyway) but I figure it's mainly because I lack experience in the field.
To make up the difference I can finagle my tax witholding in addition to the fact that I don't have health insurance and my FSA being withdrawn from my check. Also, it was mentioned that "after a 90 day probationary period there's a review and the possibility *wink wink nudge nudge* of a raise".
It's super close to home, and when I say that I mean my car probably won't warm up in the winter before I get there. A total of 1.8 miles away from my residence. I'm a bit concerned with the math (percentages) that I'll need to know, but I should be able to memorize what I need. I'm also slightly concerned that they might put me into a position that was a little different from what they initially brought to the table, but ya know, it pays more than unemployment would and if I don't like it, I can leave.
HAZZAAAA!!
