I purchased an iPod Video (30gig) from your Kanata Centrum location on May 16th 2006. I've found that my battery life is considerably lower than advertised. The longest I can play my iPod under the optimal conditions described here (http://www.apple.com/batteries/ipods.html) is 6 hours vs. the "up to 14 hours" advertised on your website (http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?sku_id=0665000FS10068378&logon=&langid=EN)

Should I be opening a service request with futureshop or with Apple to have this resolved?

Take it in, there's a over-counter exchange for 1 year from time of purchase on Ipods.
