Peace Corps

I'm finishing my junior year in college and as such am thinking about what I'm going to do after college and one thing I started considering was joining the peace corps. I was wondering if anyone had been in it themselves or knew anyone who had.

Keep in mind, this was nearly 30 years ago, but... A couple of my professors when I was in college served in the Peace Corps. One of them made us read a book about a farmer who joined up rather late in life... but I'm darned if I can remember the name of it.

The bottom line from all three... a difficult, miserable job while actually doing it, but an experience they all valued and treasured and would have gladly done again.

A friend of mine is doing some teaching in Kenya as of right now and she loves it. She says that it is difficult but it is quite possibly an experience that everyone should do. If you want, I can PM some e-mails that talk about her experience.
