Given the braggin of everyone here about their new animals i thought I'd chime in.
I live on a farm. Whats odd is I have no farm animals on it , yet. Though I am working on it.
We do have about 2 dozen barn cats. 1 indoor spoiled rotten maine coon cat that came back from washignton with me (my friend's cat but he couldnt get a place to keep him so I wound up with him.) A lab/chow mix puppy that is also an indoor/outdoor resident.
5 outdoor dogs ranging from our little coon/hound/beagle mix to the husky/german shepherd mix in size though the dane/boxer mix is starting to outsize him.
6 goldfih and 2 hampsters.
Here within the next few weeks we are goign to be getting several rabbits and some chickens. i am not sure of how many of each yet as this is dependent on how many the cousin has left over from their 4-H project from school.
So we are well on our way to getting things back up and looking like a real farm again.

We have a beagle/basset hound mix and she's an indoor dog but she does like to go outside (actually I think most dogs like the out doors). She's over 50 pounds and is 12 years old. She was actually born on a farm and we got her when she was 6 weeks old. Her mother was a full blooded bassett hound and her father well, he was a wild beagle from what we know of.
Anyway nice to here you are getting more animals and bet the kids are going like the bunnies.

rdp: Cool. I love beagles when i was a kid we used to have several including dad's special hound dog that was treated like a member of the family more than a pet. Even to the point of sharing his beers. :) yeah I'm sure the kids will like them. My daughter loves anythign soft and fluffy. Hopefully she'll not have an issue when fluffy bunny winds up in the dinner pot. Oh well she'll have to learn sometime.
AFP: Really real for sure? Where, what and how much?

She's a double registered Paint/Pinto mare, show points, I took her to World Show last year and placed Top 10 in Novice Amateur English Equitation.
She's been trail ridden, too, and she's pretty broke.
I'd take $8,000 for her, but you'd have to come back over here to the Pacific NW to get her ;)
We also have a selection of 2 year olds, yearlings, and soon-to-be weanlings, most colored, all registered with APHA, some also double registered PtHA.

AFP: Wow, she sounds well worth it. Too bad I'm not exactly going to be back in the neighborhood and the postage to fed ex her might be a bit prohibitive. ;) But definately sounds like a nice one.
Fortunately there are quite a few nice horse breeders around here not to mention the amish an hours drive south east that occasionally have an auction of buggies and horses and such. So when the times right we should find something nice. We arnt looking for anything too fancy just someone who can pull a small buggy or trail ride around.
Thanks though otherwise....

Well....and she can be a beeyoch, too. I really don't want to sell her to someone I know, even if my only contact with them is over the internet ;)

Don't get horses get mules. They're lots smarter, more nimble, stronger and eats less than a compable sized horse. You don't have to worry about my people (injuns) stealing them and when's the last time you heard about mule russlin?

AFP: Ahh yeah gentle would be good. Especially as it has been oh a decade or so since I was last on a horse. And the kids have never been except a couple pony rides at the fair. Thanks for the lookout.
Tanasi: True there is that. And after dealing with my mother in law and the rest of my wife's family I should be right at home dealing with mules and jackasses....;)
Mule russlin? Ummm no never heard of that....Somehow that sounds so wrong...

I just *knew* someone was going to say that :p
Right now, my spoiled Maine Coon kitty is probably fast asleep on his chair. For now, until I get a fish tank or something, he's the only critter I have. Unless you count the dust elephants currently living under my bed ;)
