Blech. I'm sitting at home with one half of my face swollen and itchy, my left eye swollen to the point that I can feel the weight of my upper lid, and itchy red bumps on the backs of both thighs, under my chin, on my right calf, across my left hip, and various other random body parts.
It came on last night, and I have no idea what brought this on. Not to mention the fact that my brain is worthless thanks to the Benadryl I took to try to stop the badness.

oooh, you have my pity. You might want to check for a bite of some sort (spiders or ants). That's a very common reaction for an insect venom.
While I don't haven't broken out in hives, my sister and brother both will. My sister will break out in hive from a spider bite. And my brother will from an ant bite.
All I can say is don't scratch.

Yossarian, that does sound like either a bite or a reaction to something you ingested - food, medicine?? I know it's a lot to ask, but if you can try to remember what you've swallowed in the past 24 hours you might be able to get an idea of what caused it.
It's miserable, I've been there (I opted for the full-body, Michelin-woman swelling instead) and all I can say is hang in there, drink a lot of fluids and try to take your mind off it - this is the perfect opportunity to partake of daytime TV, the numbing effect is perfect! ;)

Yeah, I've had them before due to a bad batch of Nyquil, but I ate very little yesterday, and almost nothing I hadn't had earlier. I had some pie that I had made on Wednesday and eaten with no repercussions. I had some yogurt and a granola bar which were both sealed in their wrapper. And I had two pieces of leftover pizza, which again I had eaten before with no repercussions. The only medicine I took was my pill, which has never done anything like this.
I guess that one of those things could have been "off", but it's not like I tried some new food or medicine, so who knows. I also can't find any evidence of a bug bite, although picking out one itchy red lump is a bit of a needle in a haystack right now.

Good point. But, you know, since you're not doing anything else, I figured a nice game of "Find the Bite" could be some cheap, low-brainwave-requirement fun.
The more I think about it I think it's either a bug(s) in your bedsheets or possibly the sheets themselves. The seemingly random location of your hives sounds like the places your body touches the sheets when sleeping. Switched laundry soap or dryer sheets lately?
