Wondering for those of you who work at Albertson's or other grocery stores.

We use the self checkout frequently due to insanely long lines after I get off work. The other day for the first time ever, someone came over and wanted to check the debit card and ID.

Does it flag a checker to come look at those if the total is over a certain number, or is it because we were buying several small but expensive items like Claritin...or is it a new policy?

Doesn't particularly bother me, was just curious.

probably because it had pseudoephedrine...and 2 is the limit on those products. I think there's a flag on some diet pills too.

Our machines flag an ID check if the purchase is over $300.
